Halictus apristus Vachal 1903: 130 [Holotype: Muséum National d’ Histoire Naturelle, Paris, France; ♀, type locality = Nikkon Moyen , env. De Tokio et Alpes de Nikko (on label), Japan] . Lectotype designation by Ebmer (1978b: 313) is unnecessary ( Pesenko 2007b: 101).

Sphecodes pallidulus Matsumura 1912: 209 [Syntype (s?): 1♀ in ELKU; ♀, type locality = Kumamoto, Japan, examined]. Synonymy by Ebmer (1978b: 313).

Diagnosis. Female of this species is separated from other members of the apristum group by a combination of head and mesosoma with weak green-metallic luster and IS of mesoscutum with weak tessellation (sometimes nearly smooth in part) (IS = 3.5–5 d on medial to posterior area in maximum).

Distribution. North Korea, South Korea, Russian Far East, China, Japan, Taiwan.

Flight period in South Korea. Female: April to August. Male: July to September.

Flower records in South Korea. This species has been recorded visiting the following at least 11 plant species in seven families: Asteraceae : Aster yomena , Sonchus sp., Taraxacum spp. Cornaceae : Cornus sp. Caprifoliaceae : Lonicera sp. Oleaceae : Forsythia suspensa . Polygonaceae : Polygonum sp. Rosaceae : Armeniaca sp., Crataegus sp., Potentilla sp. Salicaceae : Salix spp.
