Two specimens, one male and one female, are glued to a single card mount with corresponding data matching the original description where Sharp listed that he had two specimens, and a small label reading “Type” that was added by the NHM. We here designate the male specimen as the lectotype and female specimen as the paralectotype. Labels for the designated specimens read: “Purula,/ Guatemala./Champion.” “B.C.A. Col. II. 1. / Carpophilus /dulcis,/Sharp.” “Type”. A red label is added to the male specimen with the following text: “ LECTOTYPE / Carpophilus dulcis Sharp /Desig. By/Powell and Martin 2019”. A label is added to the female specimen with the following text: “ PARALECTOTYPE / Carpophilus dulcis Sharp /Desig. By/Powell and Martin 2019”.
