Measurements of holotype. Prodorsum: length 358, width 308, height 136, sensillus 61, prodorsal setae: interlamellar (in), lamellar (le) 38, rostral (ro) 61, exobothridial (ex) 51; notogaster: length 737, width 586, height 535, notogastral setae: c 1, c 2 and h 1 303, ps 2 379, ps 4 71, ps 4 61; genitoaggenital plate 192×121; anoadanal plate 303×116.

Measurements of paratype I. Prodorsum: length 404, width 308, height 151; notogaster: length 838, width 626, height 586.

Description. Colour brown. Surface of body punctate.

Prodorsum without lateral carinae and posterior furrows. Sigillar fields feebly expressed. Sensilli short, narrow, smooth, slightly dilated in distal half, with wavy border. Prodorsal setae filiform, smooth, rostral setae (ro) longer than others.

Notogaster with neotrichy of attenuate setae. Holotype and paratype II with 21 pairs of notogastral setae, paratype I with 20 pairs. Majority of setae very long (c 1 /c 1 -d 1=1.5). Only some setae of row ps are shorter (ps 3, ps 3', ps 4, ps 4'), setae c 1 and c 3 near anterior border, setae c 2 remote from notogastral border; vestigial setae f 1 situated slightly posterior of h 1 setae. 4 pairs of lyrifissures ia, im, ip and ips present.

Ventral region. Setae h of mentum considerably longer than distance between them. 9 pairs of genital setae with formula 4+5: 0. Anoadanal plates with setae similar in length and shape to notogastral setae; adanal setae neotrichous, in holotype right plate with 5 adanal setae, left with 6 setae, paratype I, contrarily, with 6 adanal setae at right plate, 5 setae at left, paratype II with 5 pairs of setae at each plate.

Legs. Chaetome of legs of "complete type ". Setae d on femora of legs I remote from distal end of article. Paratype I with right femur I anomalously without setae l " and v ".

Material examined. Holotype and 5 paratypes are deposited at DATE from locus typicus: BOL-005, Bolivia, Santa Cruz, Amboró NP, 7.X. 2009, GPS 17o49‘02” S, 64o41’35” W, 2452 m a.s.l., mountain cloudy forest, sifted leaf litter, leg. B. Greenway, 16 paratypes deposited at DATE from the locality: BOL-009, Bolivia, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Amboró NP, 7.X. 2009, GPS 17o49‘02” S, 64o41’35” W, 2452 m a.s.l., mountain cloudy forest, sifted leaf litter, leg. B. Greenway, 10 paratypes are deposited at DATE from the locality: BOL-017, Bolivia, Santa Cruz, Amboró NP, Siberia pass, 8.X. 2009, GPS 17o50‘19” S, 64o41’55” W, 2448 m a.s.l., mountain cloudy forest, sifted leaf litter, leg. B. Greenway, 16 paratypes are deposited at ISB from the same locality, and 10 paratypes are deposited at NHMG from the same locality.

Etymology. The specific name, longisetosus , refers to the considerable length of the majority of notogastral setae.

Comparison. The new species is similar to Austrophthiracarus cajanumaensis Niedbała et Illig 2007 ( Niedbała and Illig 2007a) described from Ecuador by the length and number of notogastral and adanal setae, the length and shape of prodorsal setae (except sensilli) and the length and arrangement of setae at the femur of legs I, but is distinguishable by the shape of sensilli, which are narrow, without a head and with a wavy border (versus club-like head), smooth notogastral setae (versus ciliate setae), and the presence of 4 pairs of lyrifissures (versus 2 pairs).
