Type species. Lysianax cubensis Stebbing, 1897 , selected by Lowry & Stoddart, 1989.
Composition. The genus Shoemakerella includes five species: S. barnardi Lowry & Stoddart, 2009 ; S. cubensis ( Stebbing, 1897) ; S. lowryi Gable & Lazo-Wasem, 1990 ; S. subchelata Sorrentino, Senna & Lowry, 2014 ; and S. ungulata sp. nov.
