Murgantia angularis ( Walker, 1867)
Comments: Froeschner (1988) included this species in his catalog, even though it was only tentatively listed from the U.S. in Van Duzee’s (1917) catalog. He did, however, indicate that it was questionable whether it should be included in the North American faunal list. In fact, the original combination, Strachia angularis is a primary junior homonym, so if it were a known species, it would need a new name. But, most workers have considered it a nomen dubium, as Distant (1900) reported that the type specimen was mutilated. It should be removed from the United States faunal list until its status can be determined and additional specimens are discoverd.
