Thyanta maculata ( Fabricius, 1775)

Distribution: United States: TX. ( Mexico, Central America)

Comments: This species was listed under the name Thyanta casta Stål , a species that Rider & Chapin (1992) placed as a junior synonym of this species. Furthermore, Rider & Chapin (1992) determined that this species, in the United States, occurs only in Texas; records from Arizona, California, and New Mexico should be referred to Thyanta planifrons Ruckes , whereas those records from Florida should be transferred to Thyanta pseudocasta Blatchley. Rider & Chapin (1992) included this species in the subgenus Argosoma .
