Chlorochroa belfragii ( Stål, 1872)
Distribution: Canada: MB ( Criddle 1921, Walley 1929, Scudder & Thomas 1987). United States: IA, IL, MN ( Rider 2012, Koch et al. 2014), ND ( Rider 2012, Wheeler 2015a), NE, SD ( Thomas 1983).
Comments: Smith (1890) included this species in his checklist of Insects from New Jersey, but this was not based on an actual specimen collection. Criddle (1921) and Walley (1929) listed Rhytidolomia faceta from Manitoba, but Scudder & Thomas (1987) indicated that these were misidentifications of this species. Hoffman’s (1971) record of this species from Virginia should be referred to Chlorochroa dismalia Thomas. Wheeler (2015a) recently reviewed the biology of this species. This species is considered to be a member of the subgenus Rhytidolomia .
