Halyomorpha is an Old World genus, currently containing 37 species, primarily in the African, Oriental, and Southeast Asian regions. Several of the included species are probably synonyms of other species, and several others will probably be transferred to other related genera. There are no modern keys to all of the species; Linnavuori (1982) provided a key to some of the African species, and Ahmad & Zaidi (1989) provided a key to some of the Indo-Pakistan species.
