Agonoscelis puberula Stål, 1854a
Distribution: United States: AZ ( Thomas et al. 2003), CA ( Ortega-León et al. 2006), CO ( Ortega-León et al. 2006), MN ( Koch et al. 2014, but see note below), NM ( Thomas et al. 2003, Bundy 2012), OK ( Kondratieff et al. 2005), TX ( Thomas et al. 2003), UT ( Ortega-León et al. 2006).
Comments: This species was not known from the New World until Thomas et al. (2003) recorded it from Mexico, the southern United States, and several West Indies islands; hence, it was not included in the Froeschner (1988) catalog. Agonoscelis puberula is very similar in general appearance to several species in the genus Trichopepla . It can usually be recognized by the dark markings on the veins of the hemelytral membrane, which are usually lacking in Trichopepla . We have examined the specimen from Minnesota and it is this species, but it might be an incidental or adventitious record.
