Comments: Froeschner (1988) listed this species in the genus Mineus , but Mineus was placed as a synonym of Perillus ( Hoffman 1971) ; this change was noted by Henry & Froeschner (1992) in their corrections and additions to the North American catalog. Furth (1974) recorded this species from Michigan purportedly based on specimens housed in the UMMZ, but McPherson (1970, 1979) and Swanson (2012) could not locate these specimens; Swanson (2012) indicated that this species should be removed from the Michigan faunal list. This species was also recorded from Alabama and Pennsylvania in an unpublished thesis ( Simons 1969)
