Brochymena parva Ruckes, 1946a
Distribution: Canada: United States: AZ, CA, CO, NV, NM, TX, UT ( Uhler 1893, Van Duzee 1917, Torre- Bueno 1939a, Knowlton & Harmston 1940, Larivière 1992). ( Mexico)
Comments: This species was originally known under the combination Halys obscura Herrich-Schäffer. Unfortunately , this is a preoccupied name for which Ruckes (1946a) provided the above replacement name. Accordingly, most of the early records for this species are under Brochymena obscura . Ruckes (1946a, 1947) clarified the status of this species, subsequently confirmed by Larivière (1992). Essentially, all (or nearly all) records of Brochymena tenebrosa Walker from northern Mexico and from the southwestern United States should be referred to this species.
