Vulsirea violacea ( Fabricius, 1803)
Distribution: United States: FL. ( Mexico, Central America, West Indies, South America)
Comments: This species was first recorded from Florida by Van Duzee (1904), who examined two different specimens collected at two different times (Slosson & Uhler collections). Barber (1914) and Blatchley (1926) both reported additional new records from southern Florida, but we do not know of any new published records since 1926.
