Euschistus crenator crenator ( Fabricius, 1794)
Distribution: United States: FL ( Uhler 1876, Barber 1914). (West Indies, northern South America)
Comments: Froeschner (1988) stated that Rolston (personal communication) had indicated that the subspecies occurring in the United States was Euschistus crenator orbiculator , not the nominal subspecies. Yet, from the revision of Middle American species ( Rolston 1974), it is clear that the nominal subspecies is the form occurring in northern South America and the West Indies, and it is probably the form found in Florida. Euschistus crenator orbiculator is the form occurring in Central America, Mexico, and into the southwestern United States.
