Distribution. PA: Egypt, Saudi Arabia.

Egyptian localities. Coastal Strip: Burg; Eastern Desert: Wadi Um ?Girfan ; Sinai: Wadi El ?Arbaein.

Dates of collection. April to August.

Diagnosis. Body length: about 9 mm, wing length: about 8.5 mm; head black in the ground colour; frons and face with numerous black hairs mixed with many scattered yellowish scaly-hairs; occiput densely covered with white scales; thorax black in the ground colour except the apical part of scuellum which is reddish-brown; Scutum with yellowish scaly-hairs and short black hairs; only basal and side margins of scutellum with white scaly hairs; bristles on Scutum and apical border of scutellum black, mixed with some yellowish hairs on latter; wings with brown basal infuscation, with centers of cells paler; legs with yellowish and black scales, with black bristles; abdomen predominantly black in the ground colour, with the two last segments usually reddish brown; tergites with black, yellowish and white scale bands; tergite 1 white hairy; sides of tergites 2–4 and 6–7 with white scales; tergite 5 with yellowish scales; a band of black scales usually present on the posterior margin of tergite 2; sides of tergites 3–6 with short black hairs. Note. The holotype of this species is destroyed in ESEC. The designation of a neotype as name-bearing type is necessary, however the available specimen in EFC cannot be designated, it is in a very bad condition, and I could not check some non-type specimens supposed to be preserved in ESEC that was closed 2 years ago for unknown reasons. A neotype for this species may be warranted in a future study.

Material examined. 1 ♂ (in a very bad condition), Burg, 10.5.1927 (Efflatoun); deposited in EFC.
