Type locality: Egypt (Wadi Rishrash) [H destroyed in ESEC]. Thyridanthrax arabicola François, 1970: 195 . Type locality: Saudi Arabia. Veribubo tabaninus ( Bezzi, 1925) : Greathead (1981: 322).

Distribution. PA: Egypt, Saudi Arabia.

Egyptian localities. Eastern Desert: Wadies southeast of Cairo. Sinai: Wadi Garagneyia.

Dates of collection. March to August.

Redescription: Body length: about 8.2 mm, wing length: about 7.6 mm; this species is generally glossy black in the ground colour, without any white scale bands on thorax and abdomen; frons and face with numerous black hairs and few yellowish-white scales; scape and pedicel black, flagellum conical, dark brown with the second flagellomere light brown; scutum with short black hairs especially on the back, and long yellowish-white hairs at margins, with collar longer and darker; scutellar bristles weak, yellowish-white; wings hyaline, with faint yellowish-brown basicostal infuscation tending to be more intense on basal costal cell, subcostal cell, and the basal area below the stem vein; legs blackish-brown to black covered with sparse whitish scales; abdomen with sparse yellowish-white scales especially on sides of tergites 3–7; tergite 1 with long white hairs at sides, becoming shorter and mixed with black ones at sides of tergites 2–7; abdominal tergites 4–7 with some long black hairs at the posterior margins. Note: The holotype of this species is destroyed in ESEC . One male specimen considered as a metatype with a hand written identification label by the author of species, Bezzi: “ Wadi Zohleiga, 27.3.1925 (Efflatoun)” and with another red type label, however the specimen is not the holotype .
