Material examined. Types: Holotype of N. sumatranus , female, INDONESIA: Sumatra, Soekaranda ( IZPAS!). Holotype of N. rubescens , female, SRI LANKA: Central Province, Kandy, xi.1909, O.S.W. coll. ( BMNH!). Further specimens examined: MALAYSIA: Kelantan, 60 km NE Tarah Rata, 1000 m, iv.2007, P. Cechovsky coll.

(OLL!). PHILIPPINES: Mindanao: Butuan ( AMNH!). THAILAND: Chiang Mai: Maerim, 27–29.ii.2000, 13– 14.ii.1997, 22.ii.2000, R.A. Beaver coll. ( RABC! MOLC!).

Diagnosis. Female with occipital carina incomplete, distinct on sides of posterior ocelli, laterally not extending beyond 0.5 length of OOL; pronotum only with an anterior very deep transverse furrow, without a posterior impression; notauli absent; legs totally or mostly reddish; enlarged claw with a subapical tooth located very near distal apex ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 25 – 27. 25 ). Male unknown.

Redescription. Female: fully winged; length 5.0–7.0 mm. Head black, except mandibles reddish and lateral regions of clypeus yellow; antenna black, except ventral side of segment 1 yellow and segments 7–10 reddish; mesosoma black, except reddish nuances on lateral regions of pronotum; metasoma reddish or brown-reddish; legs completely reddish (occasionally legs reddish, except articulations and stalks of fore trochanters brown; in 2 specimens from Malaysia, 60 km NE Tarah Rata, legs reddish, except tarsi, tibiae, stalks of femora and fore trochanters brown). Antenna clavate; antennal segments of a specimen from Malaysia, 60 km NE Tarah Rata, in following proportions: 18:9:45:25:21:15:9:9:8:11. Head shiny, excavated, granulated and sculptured by numerous longitudinal keels on face and vertex; frontal line complete, occasionally little distinct; occipital carina incomplete, only present behind and on sides of posterior ocelli, laterally not extending beyond 0.5 length of OOL. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum hairy, granulated, crossed by a transverse impression; occasionally anterior collar with numerous longitudinal keels; posterior edges of pronotum rounded, not produced into lobes. Scutum dull, reticulate rugose, sculptured by many strong or little distinct longitudinal keels (occasionally with two longitudinal keels instead of notauli). Notauli absent. Scutellum reticulate rugose and sculptured by numerous longitudinal keels. Metanotum very reduced, short. Propodeum completely reticulate rugose; posterior surface with two complete longitudinal keels. Forewing with two dark transverse bands; distal part of stigmal vein much longer than proximal part. Fore tarsal segment 1 longer than segment 4 (23:15). Enlarged claw ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 25 – 27. 25 ) with a subapical tooth and a row of seven bristles. Segment 5 of fore tarsus ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 25 – 27. 25 ) with two rows of 23–26 lamellae; distal apex with a group of at least 15 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/2.
