Holotype: ♂, Nanling National Natural Reserve, Ruyuan County, Guangdong, 1997-V-15, leg. Min Wang. Paratypes: 2♂, same data as holotype. The type specimens are deposited in the Insect Collection of South China Agricultural University ( SCAU), Guangzhou.

Description

Male ( Figs. 8–9 View FIGURES 8 – 9 ). Forewing length 19 mm, antenna length 10 mm.

Antennae dark brown, about as long as 1/2 of forewing costa, club yellow ventrally; palpi second segment erect, densely covered with long greyish white scales ventrally, third segment long and slender, distinctly protruding.

Wings upperside with ground color brown, unmarked, cilia pale yellow, without secondary sexual characters. Underside of forewing with ground color the same as that on upperside, scattered with yellow scales at apex and the end of cell. Underside hindwing yellow, costa and termen brown, veins yellow, with brown spots in spaces Cu2 to Sc+R1 and the end of the cell, the area belowr vein Cu2 light yellow.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 10-14 View FIGURES 10 – 14 ). Uncus long, about twice longer than tegumen, deeply and broadly bifid at half distal portion, two arms long and slim, running slightly outwardly; socius absentt; gnathos well developed, membranous and separated each ether at tip; saccus rather long; valva simple, broad, with the distal portion shallow bifid, forming the ampullar and the harpal processes, the ampulla with upper margin hardly swelled, the harpe with lower margin slightly convex, outer margin straight; two processes separated at apex; aedeagus with subzonal sheath subequal to suprazonal sheath, and bifid in distal portion; juxta U-shaped.

Remark

The new species resembles Idmon fujianana ( Chou & Huang, 1994) , but can be easily separated from the latter by hindwing underside covered with yellow scales except for costa and termen brown; discocellular margined brown with broad yellow outwardly; the area blow vein Cu2 pale yellow; valva with the ampallar and harpal processes widely separated at apex.
