Type locality. Suriname, [Sipaliwini], Aroewarwa Creek, Maroewym Valley and [ Brazil], Amazonas , Fonte Boa .

Type specimens. Described based on 8 ♁ and 2 ♀ ( NHMUK, one of the ♁ from Suriname labeled TYPE).

Taxonomic references. Rothschild (1909; 1910), Hampson (1920), Watson & Goodger (1986) and Vincent & Laguerre (2014).

Material examined. Brazil, Maranhão: Açailândia , 4°57'14.17"S / 47°30'11.08"W. Light traps, 19–27.xi.1990, V.O. Becker legit, 1 specimen ( VOB) GoogleMaps .
