Colletes uralensis Noskiewicz 1936 View in CoL

Colletes uralensis Noskiewicz 1936: 251 View in CoL –256, ♀, ♂ (lectotype: ♂, designated by Kuhlmann 2000: 171, “Temir, u. Ural, obl. mog. Daumtschar, 2.VI. 908, leg. D. Borodin i B. Uwarow” [ Kazakhstan] [ZISP]).

Colletes kipyatkovi Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin in Proshchalykin & Kuhlmann 2013: 89, ♀ (holotype: ♀, 12 km Sarybarak, Peski Muyunkum, Zhambyl Province, Kazakhstan, 2.VI.1978, leg. Yu. Pesenko [ZISP]). Syn. nov.

Material examined. Kazakhstan. 1 ♀, 3 ♂, 15 km E Kapchagai [77°15'E 43°55'N], 8.VI.1990, VIT [ ZISP / RCMK]; 2 ♂, 25 km E Ushtagan, Sauskan Sands [53°05'E 43°50'N], 13.VI.1979, E. Narchuk [ ZISP].

Remarks. Females of C. uralensis have been rarely collected and only when we recently re-examined the type material of this species ( Proshchalykin & Kuhlmann 2015a) we discovered that the female of C. kaszabi Kuhlmann has occasionally been misinterpreted as C. uralensis ( Proshchalykin & Kuhlmann 2015b). As part of the ongoing study of the Central Asia species it has now become clear that C. kipyatkovi , which was described based on females only, is a synonym of C. uralensis .
