Description
Antennae of male bipectinate, with tip lacking rami, the longest rami about 1.5 times diameter of flagellum. Frons white basally, green above. Labial palpus brown, white at tip. Vertex green. Thorax with dorsal side green. Abdomen whitish green. Hind tibia in male dilated, with hair-pencil and terminal extension, equal to about one-half of first tarsal segment in length.
Wing pattern. Length of forewing „ 27–29 mm; ♀ 29–32 mm. Pattern and shape very similar to preceding species, but wings paler and yellower green, and lacking strong white lines on veins. Fringes white and more or less brown on vein ends. Underside similar to upperside, but much paler.
Male genitalia ( Figures 2D View Figure 2 , 3D View Figure 3 ). Similar to albovenaria , but uncus more slender; valva narrower at apex, and costa with base more expanded; aedeagus with tapered part longer and narrower.
Segment 8 ( Figure 5D View Figure 5 ) very similar to albovenaria , but sclerotized process at middle of sternite incurved at margin and with two tiny sharp processes.
Female genitalia ( Figure 4D View Figure 4 ). Similar to albovenaria , with corpus bursae posterior one-third broader. Signum bicornute.
Biology
Larvae with pointed forked processes on A1–A5 and A8, hibernating in young stage and mature in spring ( Sugi 1987).
Hosts. Fagaceae : Castanea crenata ; Quercus acutissima ; Quercus dentata ; Quercus glauca ; Quercus serrata ; Quercus (from Scoble 1999).
