Additional specimens examined. 1 Male ( EUMJ): “( NEW GUINEA) Port Moresby 26. XII, 1971 S. Nagai leg.”; 1 male ( EUMJ): “ NEW GUINEA Lae 11. X, 1974 M. Sakai leg.”

Redescription. Male. Body ( Fig. 26 View FIGURE 26 I), oval, convex dorsally, shiny, closely covered with silver setae. Coloration of body blackish brown; anterior part of head, mouthparts, antennae and legs light brown.

Head moderate in size, flat dorsally, finely punctate; clypeus short, with straight front margin. Eyes large, prominent; the distance between eyes about 2.3 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae moderate in length, reaching about proximal 1/4 of elytra. Pronotum densely punctate, slightly depressed in lateral parts; antero- and postero-lateral corners obtuse; anterior margin straight; lateral and posterior margins gently arcuate; PW/PL 2.00. Scutellar shield finely punctate, equilaterally triangular. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, punctate as on pronotum; humeral parts slightly projecting; apices right-angled; EL/EW 1.15; EL/PL 3.50; EW/PW 1.53; TL/EW 1.48. Legs relatively long and slender.

Caudal margin of sternite VII ( Fig. 34 View FIGURE 34 A) arcuate. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 34 View FIGURE 34 B) moderately sclerotized, subquadrate, bearing short setae and spines along posterior margin, with a pair of relatively long apodemes. Tergite IX ( Fig. 34 View FIGURE 34 C) slightly sclerotized, bearing short spines in apical part, with a pair of long apodemes. Sternite IX ( Fig. 34 View FIGURE 34 E) moderately sclerotized, asymmetrical, Y-shaped, pointed at apices. Tegmen ( Fig. 34 View FIGURE 34 D) short, moderately sclerotized, Y-shaped, bifid in apical 8/9, pointed at apices. Penis ( Fig. 34 View FIGURE 34 F) long, moderately sclerotized, about 1.2 times as long as tegmen; pala slender, expanded basally, arcuate in basal margin; parameroids separated, finely punctate, obtuse at apices; trigonium long, subtriangular, pointed at apices.

Measurements. Male (n = 1): TL 1.80 mm; PW 0.80 mm; PL 0.40 mm; EL 1.40 mm; EW 1.22 mm.
