Description. Holotype. Female. Body length 1.7 mm, fore wing length 2.4 mm.

Head. Transverse in dorsal view, 2.0× as wide as long, 0.9× as wide as mesoscutum ( Fig. 12d View FIGURE 12 ). Temple shiny with shallow punctures, weakly constricted behind eyes from dorsal view. Face ( Fig. 12h View FIGURE 12 ) nearly quadrate, shiny with shallow punctures, inner margins of eyes subparallel. Ocelli small, posterior tangent to anterior ocellus virtually touching posterior pair of ocelli, distance between fore and a hind ocellus weakly longer than diameter of an hind ocellus, POL:OD:OOL = 2.5:1.5:4.0. Antenna longer than body length, penultimate antennomere subcubic.

Mesosoma. Length:width:height = 34.0:23.0:21.5. Disc of mesonotum ( Fig. 12f View FIGURE 12 ) shiny, with strong, dense punctures. Scutellar sulcus nearly straight, broad with carinae inbetween. Scutellum highly shiny, with shallow punctures, densely pubescent. Propodeum ( Fig. 12g View FIGURE 12 ) highly shiny, with well-defined areolation which opened at anterior end, rugose-punctate medio-anteriorly, three posterior fields highly shiny and polished, shiny with shallow punctures anterio-laterally. Mesopleuron highly polished, anterior part finely punctate.

Legs. Hind coxa shiny with shallow punctures. Spines on outer side of hind tibia bright yellow, relatively dense. Inner spur of hind tibia nearly half length of hind basitarsus, outer spur 1/3 length of hind basitarsus. Basitarsus of hind leg distinctly shorter than tarsomeres 2–4 (12.0:15.0).

Wings. Pterostigma 2.7× as long as its widest part ( Fig. 12b View FIGURE 12 ). Vein 1-R1 weakly longer than pterostigma, 5.4× as long as its distance from apex of marginal cell. Vein r arising from apex of pterostigma, weakly inclined outwards, a little shorter than width of pterostigma, r as long as 2-SR, distinctly angled at meeting, 2-M half length of 2-SR and nearly as long as 2-SR+M and slightly longer than 1-SR, m-cu as long as 2-SR. First discal cell of fore wing 1.2× wider than high. Second discal cell of hind wing 1.3× wider than high. Vein cu-a strongly curved ( Fig. 12c View FIGURE 12 ).

Metasoma. As long as mesosoma. T1 ( Fig. 12i View FIGURE 12 ) parallel-sided, 1.5× longer than hind width, basal 1/4 indistinctly concave, rugulose, turned-over part weakly longer than wide, strongly rugose medially, longitudinally striate posteriorly. T2 weakly rugose, 4.0× wider than long in middle, curved apically. T3 nearly 2.0× longer than T2. Tergites posterior to T2 polished, shiny, and densely pubescent. Hypopygium as long as apex of metasoma. Ovipositor sheath ( Fig. 12e View FIGURE 12 ) 1.3× longer than hind basitarsus, thin and nearly parallel-sided, ovipositor thin, with an indistinct apical short attenuation.

Colour. Black ( Fig. 12a View FIGURE 12 ), terigites posterior to T2 brown. Tegula black. Palpi strikingly white and spurs whitish. Antenna and ovipositor sheath dark brown. Labrum and mandible dark reddish brown. Legs black, except fore leg, apex of mid femur, basal half of mid tibia, most of mid tarsus, basal third of hind tibia yellow and hind tibia more or less fumous. Wing membrane hyaline, pterostigma pale yellowish brown, paler in middle, vein 1-R1 yellowish brown, C+SC+R, r, 2-SR, and 2-M whitish yellow and other alar veins almost colourless, pterostigma without whitish basal spot.

Variation. Body length 1.7–2.3 mm, fore wing length 2.4–2.7 mm. Some specimens from Guangdong without longitudinal striae on posterior T1. Hind tibia black or basal third more or less yellowish.

Distribution. Oriental [ China: Guangdong, Yunnan].

Etymology. The specific name “ breviattenuata ” derived from the Latin “brevis” and “attenuatus”, referring to ovipositor with an indistinct short apical attenuation.

Remarks. This species is similar to D. brevicarinata Chen & Song , but differs in the following: T1 without longitudinal carina in middle (the latter with); T2 nearly half length of T3 (the latter nearly as long as); and T1 parallel-sided (the latter widened towards apex).
