Dolichogenidea alophogaster Liu & Chen , sp. nov.

( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 , 66 View FIGURE 66. 1–20 )

Description. Holotype. Female. Body length 2.1 mm, fore wing length 2.3 mm.

Head. Transverse in dorsal view ( Fig. 3d View FIGURE 3 ), 1.8× as wide as long, weakly narrower than mesoscutum (23.0:24.0). Temple a little shiny, a little rough, without punctures, constricted behind eyes from dorsal view. Face ( Fig. 3e View FIGURE 3 ) transverse, 0.8× as high as wide, appearance as temple, inner margins of eyes parallel. Posterior tangent to anterior ocellus virtually touching posterior pair of ocelli, distance between fore and a hind ocellus not shorter than diameter of an hind ocellus, POL:OD:OOL = 3.0:2.0:3.5 ( Fig. 3d View FIGURE 3 ). Antenna longer than body ( Fig. 3a View FIGURE 3 ), penultimate antennomere 2.0× longer than wide.

Mesosoma. Length:width:height = 36.5:24.0:26.5. Disc of mesonotum ( Fig. 3c View FIGURE 3 ) a little shiny, finely punctate, sparser on posterior part, punctures absent along posterior margin. Scutellar sulcus slightly curved, relatively broad with carinae inbetween. Scutellum shiny and polished with some extremely shallow punctures. Propodeum ( Fig. 3g View FIGURE 3 ) shiny, with weakly defined areolation which open at anterior end, lateral carinae of areola bifurcated, costulae well-defined, three posterior fields polished and smooth, highly shiny and slightly uneven without punctures anterio-laterally. Mesopleuron highly polished and with sparse, small punctures anteriorly.

Legs. Spines on outer side of hind tibia relatively long, dense. Inner spur of hind tibia 2/5 length of hind basitarsus, outer spur 1/3 length of hind basitarsus. Basitarsus of hind leg shorter than tarsomeres 2–4 (12.0:13.5).

Wings. Pterostigma 3.3× as long as its widest part ( Fig. 3b View FIGURE 3 ). Vein 1-R1 1.1× longer than pterostigma, 5.5× as long as its distance from apex of marginal cell. Vein r arising from middle of pterostigma, perpendicular to pterostigma, weakly longer than width of pterostigma, vein r 1.2× longer than 2-SR, strongly angled at meeting, 2-M nearly half length of 2-SR, slightly longer than 1-SR and as long as 2-SR+M, m-cu nearly as long as r. First discal cell of fore wing weakly wider than high (15.5:14.5). Second discal cell of hind wing 2.0× wider than high ( Fig. 3f View FIGURE 3 ). Vein cu-a incurved.

Metasoma. Slightly longer than mesosoma (38.5:36.5). T1 ( Fig. 3g View FIGURE 3 ) parallel-sided, concave and polished on basal 2/5, punctate-rugose transversely afterwards, turned-over part distinctly broad towards apex, transverse, highly shiny and polished except weak wrinkles on apical corners. T2 shiny, nearly smooth except weakly strigose laterally, 2.3× wider than long in middle, deeply curved into T3 medio-apically. T3 slightly shorter than T 2 in middle (5.0:6.0). Tergites posterior to T2 highly polished, and shiny. Hypopygium distinctly shorter than apex of metasoma. Ovipositor sheath 1.5× longer than hind basitarsus, thin and parallel-sided.

Colour. Body black, except tergites posterior to T2 reddish brown ( Fig. 3a View FIGURE 3 ). Tegula yellow. Palpi and spurs whitish. Antenna and ovipositor sheath yellowish brown. Labrum and mandible light reddish brown. Legs yellow, coxae reddish brown, apical 1/7 of hind tibia and hind tarsus more or less fumous. Wing membrane hyaline, vein 1-R1, C+SC+R, upper border of pterostigma brown, pterostigma, vein r, 2-SR and 2-M bright yellowish brown and other alar veins whitish yellow.

Variation. Body length of paratype 2.0 mm, fore wing length 2.2 mm.

Male. Unknown.

Material examined ( ZJUH). Holotype: ♀, Fuzhou, Fujian, 1953.VIII, Huang Bangkan, ex Alophogaster sp., No. 5317.2 . Paratype: 1♀, same data as holotype .

Distribution. Oriental [ China: Fujian].

Etymology. The specific name “ alophogaster ”, referring to that it is parasitoid of larva of Alophogaster sp.

Remarks. This species is similar to D. prodeniae (Viereck, 1912) but differs in the following: T2 slightly longer than T 3 in middle (the latter about half length of T3); antenna longer than body, with penultimate antennomere 2.0× longer than wide (the latter not longer than body with penultimate antennomere about one and one third times longer than wide); and face impunctate (the latter evenly punctate).
