Type species: Teratura suzukii Matsumura & Shiraki, 1908 .

Diagnosis. Fastigium verticis conical; hypognathous. Pronotum with inconspicuous humeral sinus. Thoracic auditory spiracle completely free. Tegmina long, hind wings longer than tegmina. Male tenth abdominal tergite with large paired posterior processes; epiproct small. Male genitalia with large yoke-like epiphallus; apex with projections, either robust, articulated, denticulated or spine-like.
