COMMENTS: Mayr and Rand , in the original description, cited the AMNH number of the holotype and listed their type series of nine specimens. The eight paratypes are: Doini Island, AMNH 295688–295691 About AMNH , three males, one female, 7 November–2 December 1920, J.T. Zimmer ; Samarai Island , AMNH 330253–330256 About AMNH , two males, two females, 5 July 1929, H. Hamlin .

Higgins et al. (2008:601) tentatively synonymized intermedia with sonoroides.
