Holotype: Description of male: total length 2.888. Overall colour pale brown, with notum slightly darker than pleura, coxae and legs.

Head: length 0.455. Length of clypeus 0.137. Width of head 0.455. Interocular distance 0.018. Lengths of palpomeres: pI 0.028; pII 0.070; pIII 0.105; pIV 0.123 and pV 0.280. Palpal formula 1.2.3.4.5. Palpomere pV clearly longer than the sum of pIII + pIV. Newstead’s spines missing. Flagellomere lengths: FIII 0.392; FIV 0.245 and FV 0.245. Remaining segments lost. Ascoids missing on segments present ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ).

Thorax: notum slightly darker than pleura, coxae and legs. Length of thorax 0.858. Lengths of coxae: anterior 0.490; median 0.385 and posterior 0.333. Femur lengths: anterior 1.085, median 1.103 and posterior 1.050. Tibia lengths: anterior 1.435, median 1.610 and posterior 1.715. Anterior tarsomere lengths: TI 0.178; TII 0.413; TIII 0.228; TIV 0.140 and TV 0.105. Median tarsomere lengths: TI 0.770; TII 0.420; TIII 0.245; TIV 0.140 and TV 0.105. Posterior tarsomeres lengths: TI 0.788; TII 0.420; TIII 0.252; TIV 0.140 and TV 0.105. Wing 2.660 long, 0.420 wide. Principal alar distances: α (R2) 1.015; β (R2 + 3) 0.490; γ (R2+ 3 + 4) 0.105; δ (part of R1 that extends beyond junction of R2 + R3) 0.823 ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ).

Abdomen: total length 1.540 including terminalia. Tufts of bristles implanted on abdominal pleurites ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ), being most visible on final two segments. Terminalia: aedeagal apodeme simple and narrow, heavily sclerotized. Gonocoxite simple: length 0.291; width 0.084. Gonostylus: length 0.158; width 0.084 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). Gonostylus with distal part directed downwards ventrally at 90, with a sclerotized fingernail-like spine; distal part is curved and blade-like. External surface of base ornamented with long, stout bristles. Smaller bristles implanted on the internal surface of distal part ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). Paramere short with bristles implanted on upper surface: length 0.053. Lateral lobes 0.088 long, 0.053 wide. Cercus 0.053 long and 0.025 wide. Aedeagus 0.140 long and 0.025 wide at base, forming a long, narrow cone.

Type locality. Brazil, Espírito Santo State, municipality of Brejetuba, Córrego do Café (20º08.284`S; 41º18.310`W; 417 masl).

Type material. Holotype male number 0 0 1. Santos C. B. 24.III.2007. Both deposited in Psychodidae collection of CEUMT-UFES.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the municipality of Brejetuba, where the specimens were collected.
