Endemic to New Zealand (Yaldwyn 1954; Yaldwyn & Webber 2011). Old records from the Falkland Islands ( Miers 1876) and Campbell Island ( Filhol 1885) repeated in further literature (see Yaldwyn 1954) are erroneous and likely refer to either Campylonotus spp. (Falklands) or Nauticaris marionis (Campbell Island, see Yaldwyn & Webber 2014).
