Diagnosis (after Luo et al. 2022; Vršanský 2003; Nel et al. 2014; Lee 2016; Sendi et al. 2023). Head transverse, orthognathous. Compound eyes large, oval. Antenna sometimes thin with numerous wide segments and long setae in transverse rows. Pronotum sometimes subdivided by a transverse supracoxal furrow. Forewings sclerotized, often covered by cup-shaped punctures (‘‘bunky”). Venation simplified or sometimes indistinct, adsutural line sometimes present. Distal part of hindwings distinctly projected beyond forewing apex. Stem R reduced, with few branches, possibly with pterostigma in R1. Stem M branched, stem CuA with many branches and stem CuP simple. Cerci sometimes with long setae and few segments. Females with short external ovipositor.
