Etymology. This epithet derives from the Latin adjective “ rutundus ”, meaning “round” and refers to the round spermathecae in the epigyne.
Diagnosis. This new species resembles Curtimeticus nebulosus Zhou and Li, 2014 in having the similar wide ventral plate and the copulatory openings at the junction of dorsal and ventral plate ( Fig. 83B, C View FIGURE 83 ; Zhou and Li, 2014, fig. 28C), but can be distinguished by the shorter and circular copulatory duct in C. rutundus sp. nov. ( Fig. 83B, C View FIGURE 83 ), whereas straight in C. nebulosus (Zhou and Li, 2014, fig. 28C). Spermathecae globular in C. rutundus sp. nov. ( Fig. 83B, C View FIGURE 83 ), whereas elliptical in C. nebulosus (Zhou and Li, 2014, fig. 28C).
Description. Female (holotype, Fig. 83A View FIGURE 83 ): Total length: 2.57. Epigyne ( Fig. 83B, C View FIGURE 83 ): Ventral plate sclerotized, wide, mid ventrally grooved; copulatory openings at the junction of dorsal and ventral plate; copulatory ducts short, located mesally, forming a loop before entering the spermathecae; spermathecae globular; fertilization ducts short, extending mesally.
