Paraneseuthia titiwangsana View in CoL sp. n.

( Figs. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 , 5–6 View FIGURES 3 – 6 )

Type material. Holotype: WEST MALAYSIA (Pahang/Selangor States): ♂, two labels: " MALAYSIA, / GENTING Highlands / #49, 8 II 1998 / G. O'Reilly" [white, printed]; " PARANESEUTHIA / titiwangsana m. / det. P. Jałoszyński, '14 / HOLOTYPUS " [red, printed] ( MNHW).

Diagnosis. Body moderately large (BL <1.2 mm), slender and strongly convex with unremarkable vestiture of setae; protrochanters and protibiae unmodified; aedeagus in ventral view with emarginate apex with a pair of lateral subtriangular projections and curved subapical ribbon-like structure of endophallus distinctly narrowing distally.

Description. BL 1.10 mm. Body of male ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ) elongate and strongly convex, head and pronotum light brown, elytra slightly darker, setae yellowish.

Head broadest at large, strongly convex and coarsely faceted eyes, HL 0.15 mm, HW 0.23 mm; vertex and frons confluent and convex; supraantennal tubercles feebly marked. Punctures on head dorsum fine and inconspicuous except for several sparse punctures on sides of frons behind supraantennal tubercles; setae short, sparse and suberect. Antennae slender and with club composed of antennomeres IX–XI, AnL 0.45 mm, antennomeres I–III elongate, IV–VI about as long as broad, VII–X transverse, XI as long as IX–X together, less than twice as long as broad.

Pronotum subrectangular with broadly rounded anterior corners and blunt and obtuse but relatively wellmarked posterior corners (in Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 pronotum is tilted anteroventrally and its shape is not possible to assess), equally broad in entire median third; PL 0.30 mm, PW 0.38 mm; anterior and lateral margins broadly rounded; posterior margin shallowly emarginate in middle; pronotal base with two lateral pairs of small and distinct pits, the lateral pits especially deep. Punctures on pronotal disc fine and inconspicuous; setae long, sparse and strongly erect.

Elytra oval, broadest near anterior third; EL 0.65 mm, EW 0.53 mm, EI 1.24; humeral calli well-marked, elongate. Punctures on elytra almost as indistinct as those on pronotum except for adsutural region in anterior third of each elytron, where punctures are larger but still rather superficial and with diffused margins; setae similar to those on pronotum. Hind wings well developed.

Legs moderately long and slender, unmodified.

Aedeagus ( Figs. 5–6 View FIGURES 3 – 6 ) in ventral view approximately drop-shaped; AeL 0.24 mm; median lobe strongly but gradually narrowing in apical region, with emarginate apex and two lateral apical subtriangular projections each bearing small seta mesally, sclerotized internal armature located in large subapical area and containing curved ribbon-like structure distinctly narrowing distally; ventral diaphragm circular and located sub-basally; parameres slender, not reaching apex of median lobe, each with one apical seta.

Female. Unknown.

Distribution. Peninsular Malaysia, border area between Pahang and Selangor.

Etymology. Locotypical, after the Titiwangsa Mountains, where the Genting Highlands are located.

Remarks. In the general body shape and pigmentation this species resembles P. bi c ol or from Sumatra. However, the subapical ribbon-like structure of the endophallus seen in P. titiwangsana is not present in P. bicolor , which has a pair of lateral elongate and curved sclerites instead.
