Etymology. The epithet for this species is in honor of Dr. David Wahl, curator of the American Entomological Institute.

Diagnosis. Differs from G. barnstoni by the mesoscutum punctate rugulose ( Fig. 26c View FIGURE 26 ); and the head wider than long ( Fig. 26a View FIGURE 26 ). Differs from G. helenae by the metacoxa finely striate; the head wider than long; the propleuron with irregular striae; and the pronotum with the area between lobes usually crenulate (well-defined sculpture) ( Fig. 26d View FIGURE 26 ). Differs from other Neotropical species by the occipital carina narrow dorsally and laterally ( Fig. 26b View FIGURE 26 ); the mesepisternum ( Fig. 26d View FIGURE 26 ) and the propodeum areolate; the ovipositor sheath longer than the metasoma, and dark brown, with apex yellow brown ( Fig. 26e View FIGURE 26 ); and the fore wing discal cell present.

Description. Female ( Fig. 26e View FIGURE 26 ). Length: 15.7 mm (14.5–17.0 mm) (n=2); ovipositor sheath length 1.00 (0.90– 1.00) body length.

Head. Subtrapezoidal in dorsal view, wider than long ( Fig. 26a View FIGURE 26 ), punctulate, with fine irregular striae in vertex; mandible pre-apical tooth distinct; malar space short, almost separated from gena; posterior ocellus inserted at the level of upper eye margin; occipital carina narrow dorsally and laterally ( Fig. 26b View FIGURE 26 ). Head length 1.24 (1.21–1.27) eye length; eye length 17.00 (16.00–18.00) malar space; distance from posterior ocellus to occipital margin 1.72 (1.56–1.88) distance between posterior ocelli; 1 st flagellomere 1.29 (1.25–1.33) as long as scape, 1.59 (1.36–1.82) as long as pedicel, 0.65 (0.63–0.67) as long as 2 nd flagellomere. Color: black, antenna black to dark brown.

Mesosoma. Propleuron imbricate, with irregular striae; pronotal process distinct; pronotum imbricate rugulose, area between lobes crenulate; mesonotum rounded in lateral view ( Fig. 26d View FIGURE 26 ); mesoscutum punctate rugulose (with fine irregular striae in some specimens) ( Fig. 26c View FIGURE 26 ); mesoscutelum punctate rugulose; mesepisternum rugulose dorsally and areolate ventrally; mesepimeron scrobiculate; metapleuron areolate, ventral region rugulose; propodeum areolate, longitudinal carina indistinct; metacoxa finely striate. Mesosoma (excluding propleuron) 1.87 (1.78–1.96) as long as high; propleuron 1.50 (1.44–1.56) longer than its largest wide, 0.96 (0.92–1.00) pronotum length; metacoxa 3.14 (2.71–3.57) as long as wide; metatibia 5.38 (5.04–5.73) as long as wide, 1.42 (1.40–1.45) as long as femur, 2.74 (2.71–2.77) as long as 1 st tarsomere. Fore wing discal cell subtrapezoidal; hind wing with 3 hamuli, not equidistant. Color: propleuron and mesonotum black; pronotum, mesopleuron and metapleuron black (or with some red-brown parts); propodeum black; fore and middle legs with coxa, trochanter, femur and tibia dark brown, tibia with or without a yellow longitudinal stripe, tarsus dark brown (or partially yellow) in basal tarsomeres and dark brown in apical tarsomeres; hind leg with coxa black, trochanter, femur and tibia dark brown, subbasal portion of tibia yellow, 1 st tarsomere yellow, with base dark brown, 2 nd –3 rd yellow, 4 th –5 th dark brown.

Metasoma. Imbricate, 3.25 (3.13–3.38) as long as mesosoma; subgenital sternun notched, Y-shaped; ovipositor sheath 1.45 (1.41–1.48) as long as metasoma. Color: dark brown; ovipositor sheath dark brown, with apex yellow brown.

Male. Similar to female; hind tarsus entirely dark brown.

Geographic distribution: Argentina (Tucumán), Brazil (São Paulo).
