Diagnosis. Dashymenia croesus is recognized by the following set of features: body suboval ( Fig. 55 View FIGURE 55 ); pronotum orange, with large, broad, blackish patch in the middle of posterior lobe; scutellum somewhat convex, entirely orange; hemelytron blackish, embolium orange, weakly darkened medially; corium with narrow orange tinge basally and with relatively broad, transverse orange stripe apically; pretarsal claw toothed subapically.

Most similar to Dashymenia tenmalai in sharing orange tinges on the dorsum. D. croesus can, however, be easily distinguished from that species by the more oval body, the entirely orange scutellum, the larger orange tinge on hemelytron, and the pretarsal claw toothed subapically.

Redescription. Female. COLORATION. Dorsum black orange. Head. Pale brown; antennal segment I pale brown; segment II dark brown. Thorax. Pronotum. Orange; posterior lobe with large blackish patch medially contiguous with posterior margin. Scutellum. Entirely orange. Hemelytron. Mostly blackish; embolium orange, weakly darkened medially; corium with narrow orange tinge basally and with relatively broad, transverse orange stripe apically; clavus blackish, narrowly orange apically and with narrow stripe along claval commissure; cuneus dark brown; membrane dark gray, paler apically, venation almost black. Thoracic pleura. Orange. Legs. Mostly brown with tibiae darker, dark brown. Abdomen. Orange. STRUCTURE AND VESTITURE ( Fig. 55 View FIGURE 55 ). Suboval; dorsum covered with dense, pale, protruding setae. Head. Covered with dense, pale, protruding setae; antennal segment I weakly thickened towards apex, covered with short setae; segment II thickened towards apex, mixed with dense, dark and short setae with a few long, protruding, bristlelike setae. Thorax. Hemelytron. Membrane with major cell triangular, minor cell indistinct. Thoracic pleura. Covered with dense, gold setae; proepimeron deeply and coarsely punctate; remaining segments inpunctate, polished. Legs. Tarsomere II divided; pretarsal claw toothed subapically.

Male. Unknown.

Measurements. Holotype Ƥ: body length 5.60, width 2.96; Head. Length 0.36, width 1.30, diameter of eye in dorsal view 0.32. Antenna. Length of segment I 0.60, II 1.70 (III and IV broken). Labium obscured by glue and immeasurable. Pronotum. Length 1.74, width of anterior margin 1.0, length of lateral margin 1.60, width of posterior margin 2.60.

Distribution ( Fig. 56 View FIGURE 56 ). Myanmar (Palon).

Type material. Holotype Ƥ: Palon (Pegii), L. Fea. VII. IX. 87; croesus Dist. [old, handwritten label]; Type. H. T.; Distant Coll. 1911-383 ( BMNH).
