Type locality: dans le Golfe de Tarente .

Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: 1 probable syntype, MHNG INVE 51731 (ex MHNG 1098/33 ) (figured herein, Fig. 8B View FIGURE 8 ), 48.5 mm. Locality on the label: Méditerranée .

Remarks: According to Rosalie de Lamarck, her father’s collection contained three specimens.

Current taxonomic position: Fusinus rostratus ( Olivi, 1792) ; placed in synonymy with Fusinus rostratus by Deshayes (1832): 151. Locality is Mediterranean Sea.
