Type locality: l’Océan des grandes Indes.

Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: holotype MHNG INVE 51711 (ex MHNG 1098/13 ) (figured herein, Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ), 15.3 cm; this is the specimen figured in Lamarck (1816). Locality on the label: Océan Indien .

Remarks: According to Rosalie de Lamarck, her father’s collection contained only one specimen.

Current taxonomic position: Fusinus undatus ( Gmelin, 1791) ; placed in synonymy with Fusinus undatus by Lamarck (1822): 124. Locality is Indo – Pacific.
