Type locality: les mers de la Nouvelle - Hollande, près des Iles King et des Kanguroos .

Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: 4 possible syntypes MHNG INVE 51701 (ex MHNG 1098/3) (figured herein, Fig. 2A – D View FIGURE 2 ); 1098/3/1 : 82 x 40.5 mm ; 1098/3/2 : 88 x 40 mm (? Kiener, pl. 9, fig. 1) ; 1098/3/3 : 68 x 31 mm ; 1098/3/4 : 54.5 x 27 mm . Locality on the label: Australie.

Current taxonomic position: Pleuroploca australasia ( Perry, 1811) ; placed in synonymy with Pleuroploca australasia by Wilson (1994): 74. Locality is southeastern Australia.
