Empicoris rubromaculatus ( Blackburn, 1889) View in CoL

The genus Empicoris Wolff, 1811 , has numerous species worldwide; E. rubromaculatus is cosmopolitan ( Wygodzinsky 1966; Maldonado 1990). Despite this worldwide distribution, it was previously not formally recorded from Colombia. The record of this species together with that of E. barberi (see below), represent a new generic record from the country.
