Range: — Jamaica, Hispaniola; mountains from Costa Rica to northwestern Venezuela and Bolivia (BE, CO, LP).

Ecology: —Common; saxicolous and terrestrial on open soils, often on roadbanks, less common on grassy slopes and in thickets, in humid regions as well as in semihumid valleys; 2400–3800 m.

Notes: —Long known as E. minutum , but that name applies to a species of sect. Squamipedia ( Vasco et al. 2013).
