Range: — Ecuador; Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Uncommon; terrestrial in humid forests; 800–1400 m. At lower elevations than any other Bolivian species of the genus except P. rufum and P. platyphyllum . McHenry & Barrington (2014) included two specimens, one each from Ecuador and Bolivia, in their analysis.
