Stenus hessei L. Benick, 1933

Type locality. South Africa, Western Cape, Cape Ilati, Cape Town .

Material examined. SOUTH AFRICA: Western Cape: 4 ♀: Table Mts. NP, Bordjiesrif , creek banks, ca 34°18.9’S, 18°27.6’E, 5.xi.2019, P. Bulirsch lgt. ( JJRC) ; 4 ♀: same data, but 5.xi.2021, J. Janák lgt. ( JJRC) ; 1 ♂: Table Mts. NP, Cape Peninsula, Olifantsbos , 34°15.3’S, 18°23.1’E, 4.xi.2021, J. Janák lgt., wetland, in low fynbos, treading ( JJRC) ; 1 ♂: Heuningnes Riv. , 34.42 S – 20.02 E, 28.x.1983, leg. Endrödy-Younga ( JJRC, specimen recorded by Puthz 2006) .

Distribution. The species is distributed in Western Cape Province, South Africa.

Note. Aedeagus as in Figs. 32–33 , male sternite 9 as in Fig. 34 , male tergite 10 as in Fig. 35 , female valvifer as in Fig. 36 , female tergite 10 as in Fig. 37 .
