Dischistus resplendens Brunetti, 1909a: 481 View in CoL [1909b: 226].: India (Himachal Pradesh) [H in NZSI]. Diagnosis. Antenna yellowish brown, scape elongate, with long dense black hairs. Scutellum black with dense yellow scales, two rows of black bristles posteriorly. Hairs on abdomen black and yellowish, scales yellow, tergite 1 with dense yellowish hairs back and lateral.

Description. Female. Body ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9 – 10 ) length 9 mm, wing length 10 mm.

Head black. Hairs on head yellow and black; frons with dense black erect hairs and yellow recumbent scales, face with long yellow erect hairs, eyes dichoptic; occiput flat, without a concavity surrounding a single occipital foramen, with dense yellow erect hairs and dense yellow recumbent scales; ocellar tubercle black with long black hairs. Antenna ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11 ) yellowish brown, scape elongate, with long dense black hairs; pedicel slightly longer than wide, with sparse black hairs; first flagellomere elongate and bare, tip with a two-segmented stylus. Antennal ratio: 9:3:19. Proboscis black, bare, nearly four times longer than head.

Thorax black. Hairs on thorax yellow and black; postpronotal lobe with dense yellow hairs and sparse black hairs, mesonotum with sparse yellow hairs; thorax with dense yellow scales, anepisternum with dense yellow scales hairs, katepisternum with sparse yellow scales and long black hairs. Scutellum black with dense yellow scales, two rows of black bristles posteriorly. Legs [mid legs broken] yellow except tarsi black. Hairs on legs black and yellowish, bristles black. Fore femur with long yellowish hairs, hind femur with yellow scales; tibiae and tarsi with short black hairs. Bristles on hind femur with six av. Bristles on hind tibia with eight ad, 11 pd, eight av, nine pv. Wing ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 – 10 ) partly hyaline except base and anterior part brown. Vein r-m nearly at middle of cell dm, cell r5 open. Base of vein C with brush-like black bristles and hairs. Halteres dark brown with tip black.

Abdomen black. Hairs on abdomen black and yellowish, scales yellow; dorsum with long black hairs laterally, except tergite 1 with dense yellowish hairs back and lateral. Sternites black with long yellowish and black hairs, sternites 1-4 with yellow scales.

Specimen examined. 1 female, China Yunnan, Simao Pr.Jiangchen, Huangjianglin, 1200m 1995-III-12 H. Shima (BPBM).

Distribution. China (Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum (BPBM), which collected from China in 1995. According to Brunetti (1909b),
