Material: 1 specimen (MNHN­Py 1028), station CP49, East coast of Taiwan, N/ O 'Fishery Researcher 1', TAIWAN 2000, 22º55.2'N 121º21.5'E, 266 m; 02/08/2000, coll. Bouchet, Richer­IRD & Chan.

Remarks: This is a frequently recorded and characteristic species of deeper waters worldwide. It has been recorded largely between 500 and 4390 m, although there are a few records from 100 m or less.
