Key to the species of Mimastra oblonga and M. tarsalis species groups

1 First protarsomere trapezoid and concave dorsally ( Fig. 35) ( M. tarsalis species group). [Elytra completely yellow. Protibia moderately widened anteriorly ( Fig. 43). Median lobe of aedeagus moderately bent in apical third and with median ventral groove in apical half ( Fig. 27). Males 7.6–9.9 mm long. Distribution: Vietnam, Laos, Thailand]...... M. tarsalis Medvedev

- First protarsomere discoid ( Figs 28–34) ( M. oblonga species group)............................................ 2

2(1) Elytra completely yellow or orange, at most with dark extreme sutural and apical margins.......................... 3

- Elytra with black pattern, usually with metallic tint......................................................... 4

3(2) Apex of first metatarsomere not prolonged posteriorly ( Fig. 57). First protarsomere suboval with regularly rounded margins; cavity on first protarsomere relatively flat, covers basal two third of profile in inner lateral view ( Fig. 28). Protibia slender ( Fig. 36). Median lobe of aedeagus widest at basal third, gradually narrowed anteriorly, with median ventral groove in apical half ( Fig. 20). Elytra completely yellow or orange, or with black extreme apical margin......... M. oblonga (Gyllenhal) (part)

- Apex of first metatarsomere prolonged posteriorly ( Fig. 58). First protarsomere pear-shaped, cavity covers basal two third of profile in inner lateral view ( Fig. 32). Protibia distinctly widened anteriorly ( Fig. 40). Median lobe of aedeagus relatively narrow, more or less parallel, with median ventral groove in apical two thirds ( Fig. 24). Elytra with dark apical and posterior half of sutural margins....................................................................... M. latimana Allard

4(2) Elytra with two longitudinal black or metallic green stripes ( Figs 7, 55), very rarely connected apically ( Fig. 56). [First protarsomere rounded, cavity covers basal two third of profile in inner lateral view ( Fig. 33). Protibia moderately widened anteriorly ( Fig. 41). Median lobe of aedeagus widest at basal third, gradually narrowed anteriorly, with median ventral groove in apical two third ( Fig. 25). Body length - males: 8.6–9.3 mm, females: 10.0– 10.4 mm. Distribution: China (Yunnan, Sichuan)]....................................................................................... M. guerryi Laboissière

- Elytra with a metallic apical spot........................................................................ 5

5(4) First male protarsomere arched, cavity in inner lateral view large, semicircular, covering almost whole profile ( Fig. 34). Median lobe of aedeagus bent near the middle ( Fig. 26)........................................ M. anicka sp. nov.

- First male protarsomere relatively flat, cavity in inner lateral view smaller ( Figs. 28–31). Median lobe of aedeagus regularly curved in lateral view ( Figs. 20–23)...................................................................... 6

6(5) Protibia slender in male ( Fig. 36, 38)..................................................................... 7

- Protibia widened anteriorly in male ( Fig. 37, 39)............................................................ 8

7(6) Cavity of first male protarsomere flat and covers almost whole profile in the inner lateral view ( Fig. 30). Median lobe of aedeagus more widely regularly curved in lateral view ( Fig. 22). Apical elytral spot longitudinal, narrow, touching elytral margin only in apex ( Fig. 4)....................................................... M. lunata (Kollar & Redtenbacher)

- Cavity on first male protarsomere rounded and covers basal two thirds of profile in inner lateral view ( Fig. 28). Median lobe of aedeagus less widely regularly curved in lateral view ( Fig. 20). Apical spot on elytra small, covering apical quarter of elytra ( Fig. 2). (rare form with a metallic spot on elytral apex)............................... M. oblonga (Gyllenhal) (part)

8(6) First protarsomere pear-shaped, cavity regularly rounded ( Fig. 31). Median lobe of aedeagus relatively wider ( Fig. 23). Apical elytral spot metallic blue, very rarely divided by a yellow stripe or a metallic pattern prolonged anteriorly into two stripes ( Figs. 51–54). Distribution: China (Sichuan, Hunan, Guizhou)...................................... M. soreli Baly

- First protarsomere with regularly rounded margins, cavity heart-shaped in profile ( Fig. 29). Median lobe of aedeagus relatively slender ( Fig. 21). Apical elytral spot metallic dark green. Distribution: Nepal, India (Himachal Pradesh). M. cyanura (Hope)
