Description – Measurements (in mm, n=3): HW = 0.61 (0.60–0.62); TW = 0.63 (0.61–

0.64); PW = 0.91 (0.90–0.92); EW = 0.94 (0.91–0.97); AW = 0.98 (0.94–1.03); HL = 0.48 (0.46– 140–141

0.50); EL = 0.12 (0.11–0.12); TL = 0.18 (0.18–0.19); PL = 0.51 (0.50–0.52); SC = 0.50 (0.49–0.51); FB = 1.54 (1.52–1.56); BL = 3.00 (2.91–3.05). Habitus as in Fig. 89 View Figs 88–89 . Forebody moderately shin- ingdespitesculpture, abdomenveryfinelymicrosculpturedandmediumfinely, rather shallowlypunctate, duller. Bodyreddishmediumtodarkbrown, exceptexplanatepart ofpronotum, clypealarea, mouthpartsandantennaereddishmediumbrown. Headwith anteriormarginforminganarchtruncateinmiddle, withveryslightrim, supraantennal prominencesasmoderatelyelevatedobliqueridges, discslightlyimpressedneareyes, epistomalsutureformingsubcircularimpression (almostimpunctateinside) uppersur- facewithouttactilesetae, eyesrathersmallandveryslightlybulgingfromsidelineofhead; indorsalviewtemples (1.5× lengthofeye) alatiform, laterallyevenlyrounded, posteriorly constrictedtoformdistinctneck, however, dorsalsidewithonlytracesofoccipitalfurrow, dorsumofneckdemarcatedbybearingmicrosculptureinsteadofpunctation. Antennomere 1 club-shaped, smooth, segment 2 basallybroadoval, segment 3 club-shaped, seg- ment 4 smallandisodiametrical, segments 5–11 withbasaldishes, articles 6–10 transverse (morethan 1.5× broaderthanlong), antennomeres 9–10 bulkierthanpreceding. Headand pronotumwithmostlyfoveatesculpture, withvaryingbutmostlyverysmallinterspaces. Pronotumwithlateralportionmostlyexplanateandup-turned, edgealatiformwithsparse shortsetae; lateralmarginunevenlyarchedwithanumberofsmall, irregularlydistributeddenticles, posteriormarginstronglyincisedinavariablezigzaggedfashionbefore corners; discmediallywithtwofaint, posteriorlyconfluentlongitudinalridges, impressed alongsidethem, lateralpartsimpressed (mostlyaroundmiddle). Elytrawithmembranous posteriormarginextendingfromsuturalcornerto 4/5 ofhindmargin, asmallincision beforeoutercorner. Elytralepipleuralridgepresentwithup-turnedlateralalatiformpor- tions, disclongitudinallyimpressedalongside; shoulderswelldeveloped, surfacefoveolate, inbetweenpuncturestorulose. Legsshort, pro-andmesotibiawithseveralspinulose rows, metatibiawithlongitudinalctenidiumofspinulesindistalhalf. Abdomenwithsides moderatelyarcuate, secondsegmentwithparatergitesbroadeningposteriorly (abdomen appearingconstrictedatbase), thoseofsegmentsIII–VIIthin, mesalparatergitesbroad; posterioredgeoftergiteVIIwiththinpalisadefringe, medianpartofsterniteVIIasin Fig. 139 View Figs 139–145 , sterniteVIII ( Fig. 140 View Figs 139–145 ), tergitesIX ( Fig. 141 View Figs 139–145 ), X ( Fig. 142 View Figs 139–145 ) andaedeagusasinFigs 143–145 View Figs 139–145 , spermathecaasinFig. 268 View Figs 265–278 .

Etymology – ThespeciesisnamedafterthemountainrangeGunungIjen, whereit

wasfound (nouninapposition).

Distribution – Only 3 specimenswerefoundat 3 differentbutcloselysitu- atedlocalitiesinJava.

Remarks – Thelocalities (atGn. Ijen) wereremaindersofprimaryforest (usuallyverywet). Thelownumberofspecimensprobablydonotcorrespond torarity. Thecollectorreturnedtotheareaonemoretimebutcouldnotcollect becauseofthepermanentheavyrains.
