Type species. Diplonevra florescens (Turton, 1801) (= Diplonevra florea (Fabricius, 1794)) .
The males of the Australian species of this genus are keyed by Disney (1990) and the females by Disney and Kistner (1997). These keys need supplementing by Disney and Kistner (1999) and Disney (1999a). I now report a further new species, representing the first record of this genus in Tasmania.
