Notes. The type series included a male and a female syntypes. The male syntype could not be found at the NHM and the female syntype is herein designated lectotype of the species. Its labels are: “ Brasilien / Nova Teutonia / 27º 11’ S 52º 23’ W / Fritz Plaumann / 21.8.1938.” // “Brit Mus / 1938-40” // “SYN- / TYPE” [printed in black on a rounded label with red border]” // “ Trizygia / nitens [hw] / F.W. Edwards 193[pr]9[hw]” // “ HOLOTYPE [pr] / Trizygia / nitens [hw] / det. J.E. Chainey, 1996 [pr]” // “BMNH(E) # / 257923”. The abdomen of the lectotype is missing, but both wings and one of the fore-, one of the mid-, and one of the hindlegs are present, the hindleg with the final tarsomeres missing GoogleMaps .
