Notes. Papavero (1978: 42) stated that this species has the type deposited at the NHM, but Edwards (1931: 259) did not formally designate a type between the two female type specimens. The single specimen at the NHM is labeled as a syntype. It is herein designated lectotype and its labels are: “SYN- / TYPE” [printed in black on a rounded label with light blue border]” // [male terminalia dissected, mounted on an acetate sheet] // “Type” [printed in black on a rounded label with red border]” // “ Mycomya / peruviana Edw [hw] /F.W. Edwards / det. 1930. [pr]” // “Verrugas / Lima Peru [pr] V.1928 [hw] / RCShannon / “B.M. 1929-185” [hw] // “ SYNTYPE [pr] / Mycomya / peruviana [hw] / Edwards / det. J.E. Chainey 1995 [pr]”// “BMNH(E) # / 257635”. The lectotype is in excellent condition.
