Description
Body size: Length: 5.93–6.80 mm. Width: 4.46–5.34 mm. Head: Surface of clypeus smooth; trituberculated clypeal carinae, the lateral ones being slightly higher than the median, subtly rounded edges; lateral carina of the clypeus extending backwards to meet the frons tubercles. Frons with tubercle adjacent to each eye, with base wider than apex. Interocular region with slope marked by points is defined, other regions of the front without evident punctuation. Pronotum: Without evident structures, central disc with slight sinuosity. Male terminalia: In dorsal view, elongated and asymmetric parameres when closed ( Figure 9 View Figure 9 (d)); the right being larger and slightly more curved than the left, when open they are parallel and of the same size. In lateral view longitudinal parameres to the phallobase ( Figure 9 View Figure 9 (f)). Sexual dimorphism: This species does not feature sexual dimorphism. Remarks: The primary type is deposited at CEMT.
Differential diagnosis. Bolbapium boillyi sp. nov. is morphologically similar to B. borgmeieri , B. caesum , B. howdeni , B. modestum , B. parcepunctatum , B. sampaioorum sp. nov. and B. santanaorum sp. nov. in not presenting the transverse carina forehead interconnecting the interocular tubercles. However, it is easily differentiated by the lack of structures on the pronotum.
Geographical distribution. Brazil (Amapa), Colombia (Monteria) and French Guiana (Cayenne; Saint Laurent du Maroni).
