Description

Body size: Length: 4.48–6.04 mm. Width: 3.20–4.71 mm. Head: Clypeal carina with three tubercles on the same level, lateral carinae end beyond the beginning of the canthus. Frons with angled elevation of the posterior tip of the frontal transverse carina; region between the carina and the clypeus almost flat and with few points. Pronotum: Anterior region of the pronotum with bituberculated structure, which may be little or very developed, projection occupies less than half of the interocular space. Disc with sparse points, unevenly distributed. Ventral region of the thorax: Central region of the metaventrite with a few unevenly distributed setae. Male terminalia: In dorsal view, parallel parameres, meeting at the apex; projection of the posterior margin seen dorsally ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (d)). Parameres slightly curved in lateral view, forming an approximate angle of 45° in relation to the phallobase; posterior margin in lateral view with pointed and curved projection, almost reaching the parameres ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (f)). Sexual dimorphism: Males have almost imperceptible punctuation on the clypeus, while females have a rough and multicarenate carenaded clypeus surface. Remarks: The primary type is deposited at the CEMT.

Differential diagnosis. Bolbapium limeirai sp. nov. is morphologically similar to B. baeri , B. furtadoi sp. nov., B. limeirai sp. nov., B. luederwaldti sp. nov., B. minutum and B. quadrispinosum in presenting the forehead with a transverse carina interconnected by tubercles. However, it is easily distinguished from the other species because it has a short biberculated projection on the pronotum.
