11. Chironomus View in CoL . There are no species identified of this genus. Representatives are found in silty bottoms of usually shallow standing water bodies with high saprobity. Sometimes animals are also found in heavily silted gravel, sand and clay. C. tibialis and P. barbimanus are found as secondary species.
