Material examined. Holotype female SOUTH AFRICA: “ Bacuma fumipennis Cam. Type , Cape ” ( BMNH, 3.c.570).

This is a distinctive, relatively small (female body length 11 mm) species, which can be recognized by the combination of a largely black mesosoma and red metasoma with tergites 5 and 6 black. The holotype is in reasonable condition.
